What is reborning?
Reborning is the wonderful art of turning a vinyl play baby into a realistic looking collector baby doll. Some of the reborners use techniques that are similar but there are a diverse number of mediums used and techniques, each producing varied results, depending on the artist.
We use an acyrlic paint called Tapestry Wine on the inside of our babies to produce a soft looking baby skin with warm lifelike tones and use a combination of oil paints with baby oil gel to color the outside of our babies. Veining and blushing further enhances the appearance of a healthy baby. Weighting the baby with poly pellets snuggled in poly fil allows for a huggable, cuddly baby you will love to hold. High quality imported mohair from Australia - the mohair has a longer staple and is incredibly soft and luxurious - is used to hand root our babies hair. Our babies are cherished heirlooms that you want to actually handle, cuddle and hug.
We will be adding a number of new pages in this section along with pictures so it will become more complete. If you have questions about reborning in the meantime, please email us.
