Much love has been shown for Spencer and his family. This is page three of the compilation of happy thoughts, prayers and wishes for Spencer.
What a pleasant surprise in my mail box today !! Not only was there the fabulous pattern from Joyce (wow!! I am going out to buy a bigger doll just so I can use this!), but there was the most wonderful certificate of appreciation and a fantastic thank you letter signed by lots of different people! I am just overwhelmed that my small contribution would draw such attention, I really can't thank you enough for lifting my spirits :> They are both going into "My Album About Me" along with WHY I felt compelled to do this. Thank you so much!! Be well - CA
<<<<VERY BIG HAPPY GRIN>>>>>
I am so glad that our NIN thank you letter and THE SPENCER PROJECT certificate arrived safely to you, as well as the doll body pattern that Joyce donated to help raise funds for NIN. (Big hugs to Joyce) We love and care about you and can't thank you enough for your donation.
It is everyone's efforts that makes NIN such a huge success. Together we handled $1.6 million in donations last year. Many folks don't know this, but THE SPENCER PROJECT was one of many NIN projects that we have handled, and reports of our activities have been in People magazine, Oprah, Good Morning America, Sew News, The Ensign, and many other media - we are mentioned in Parents Magazine for Dec 2003 as one of the nation's top charities to donate to.
What started out as a family ministry has blossomed like a rose into a huge corporate 501 (c) 3 charity for sick and needy babies and families. I finally retired in Feb of 2003, but am very active as a volunteer and am the NIN home office staff's personal cheering squad.
There are so many wonderful folks in the reborning community that are helping NIN help others, I am proud to call you all my friends!
Happy dancing all around the room!!
Carol

What wonderful uplifting news. I just got off the phone from talking to Jack and told him to check his email because I forwarded all the wonderful stories to him of babies that made it.
I have to teach Relief Society tomorrow and the lesson is on Charity. Jack is coming to share with the sisters all about Spencer and how many hands made the journey through, what could have been tribulation, joyful. I wish I could tell you everything he told me, (it would be a very long email) but what he did say is that the family is so grateful for all the love that has been shown to them. They especially love the reborn babies. Lisa's Spencer gets cuddled between Jack and Brenda as they share time together visiting with the family as a whole. Either Brenda or Jack spend so much time at the hospital that it helps when they are all together and with the reborn Spencer, the children are able to feel Spencer's presence. He is put to bed every night by the family and the children love him so much. Brenda was very taken with how real Lisa's Spencer is and love the baby doll very much. LIz's Spencer is the children's darling - they carefully change the baby many many times all day, put him down for naps, carry him around and cuddle him. Joan's Spencer is carefully put up in Jack and Brenda's bedroom for safe keeping and lovingly taken out and cuddled, then put away again. Since he is porcelain, special precautions are taken to ensure his safety.
He said that he wishes he could express to each and every one of you how special all of you made the family's Christmas. Nanny carries Samantha everywhere she goes, the dress she got to go with her made her look like a Christmas angel. The family is all warm and snuggly in marvelous clothing, coats, shoes and other needed necessities and can barely wait for Spencer to come home to use his new rocking chair.
Spencer and his family are very special, it is fun just to be around them, they literally exude love to everyone they meet. God sure knew what he was doing when he sent Spencer to be a member of such a wonderful kind loving family
Love and hugs, Carol
